Redfish Rocks on the Docks 2017!

Come down to the Port Orford dock on Saturday, May 20, from 11 AM – 3 PM to learn more about our unique dock, the Redfish Rocks Marine Reserve and Marine Protected Area, and the science happening there. Join the Redfish Rocks Community Team, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Marine Reserve Program, The Surfrider Foundation, Coast Watch, the Cury County 4H STEM Club, Port Orford Sustainable Seafood, Oregon Sea Farms, and the OSU Port Orford Field Station to learn about the “living laboratory” at Redfish Rocks, and the science happening there, and how you can get involved. Captain Jeff Miles will give free tours of his fishing vessel the Top Gun, and talk about commercial fishing and collaborative research. At 1:30 PM, Fawn Custer will lead a CoastWatch Clinic, followed by a guided tour of the drift line along the nearby beach. Enjoy free food and drinks, and the live music from local band STEWGRASS! See you there!
